Yes, I know! It is idiosyncratic in the extreme for me to post Catholic mass readings linked to a Protestant study Bible but I have good reasons:
- Most Catholic study Bibles are untrustworthy because they are solely concerned with modern higher-critical theory and prefer any newfangled innovation to actual Catholic teaching.
- Catholic study Bibles are not online.
- The ESV translated text is almost the same thing as the Revised Standard Version - Second Catholic Edition which is very good and the basis of the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible (ICSB) but is not online.
- The ESV Study Bible is of higher quality than anything the Catholics have yet produced (though the ICSB might get there someday!)
- I like the ESV, and since there is a print version of the ESV with Apocrypha, there is a good case to be made that the ESV could be the perfect Catholic Bible.
